Tenuta dei Re
Winery in Castagnole Monferrato
History and tradition are the two main elements within a company, Paolo and Luisa Cravetto know this well, which is why when they bought the “Tenuta dei Re” in Castagnole Monferrato, they preserved every element of the historic estate.
Even today, all the production processes, from harvesting to bottling and labeling, take place inside the historic cellars built on the lower floors of the manor house, where the grapes are processed with modern wine making techniques, limiting the use of chemical products so as to make a more authentic and prestigious wine.
The estate, one of the most historic in the province of Asti for the production of Grignolino, is located in the center of an amphitheater formed by the meeting of two hills, where the 10 hectares of vines allow the Tenuta dei Re to produce three DOCs: Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato, Barbera d’Asti, Grignolino d’Asti and Monferrato Bianco DOC (blend of Timorasso and Favorita).
Ruchè can be tasted in the fresher “base” version, or in its “selection” aged in terra cotta amphorae, for a more intense experience.
Grignolino is the protagonist of a successful oenological experiment: Don Felipe, a 100% Grignolino Spumante Metodo Classico with an unexpected velvety character.
All the production of Tenuta dei Re comes from the 10 hectares of the property, located in one of the few strips of sand present in Monferrato, an element that favors aromaticity, giving life to less structured, lighter wines with an unforgettable flavor.
