Bava is past and future, men and women rooted in the territory who, since 1600, have cultivated vineyards in Monferrato.
Since 1975, Bava has been a pioneer in the use of barriques and, even today, the technological choices marry the passion for wine.
The cellars, in fact, have steel fermentation barrels, custom built according to the size of each vineyard. To these are also added the 53-hectolitre oak vats, suitable for fermentation and refinement of aging reds and a distinctive element of the Bava brand.
Respect and sustainability. These are the two values on which the care of the vineyard is based, according to the Bava family.
In the more than 50 hectares of vineyards owned by the company, distributed between the municipalities of Cocconato, Agliano and Castiglione Falletto, each represented by a typical farmhouse, they cultivate without using herbicides and respecting the ecosystem.
Among other practices, Bava chooses, for example, green manure to always guarantee flowers and herbs useful for insects, first of all bees.
Passing by the Bava vineyards, anyone can notice the cuttings of grass and the remains of pruning used as natural fertilizers, the poles used, all strictly made of wood from renewable forests or the grass between the rows, which not only prevent the soil erosion but attest to the exclusion of chemicals.
The Ruchè completes the range of Bava. A unique wine among Piedmontese wines, distinguished by its aromaticity and capable of captivating young people and an international audience.
Bava chooses to maintain the unique fragrance of the grape, avoiding any aging in wood to respect its nature. Bottled in spring and left to refine, it fully develops its powerful floral bouquet.
