Poggio Ridente
Winery in Cocconato
Cecilia Zucca has always felt the strong appeal of her land, Monferrato, to the point of leaving her studies and starting an adventure with her husband Luigi Dezzani. Together, they founded Poggio Ridente: where nature comes first.
Poggio Ridente has always chosen organic. Located in the characteristic village of Cocconato, one of the most beautiful in Italy, the agricultural reality enjoys the perfect microclimate, a crossroads of winds and tailor-made geographies.
A name, Poggio Ridente, which reflects the soul of Cecilia and Luigi and carries within it the image of a vine-covered terrace, always smiling in the sun. The same one from which the family’s wine business began.
Cecilia and Luigi have always believed in the land, in the unique peculiarities of each vine and in the knowledge that only Mother Nature brings with it. For this reason, Poggio Ridente today cultivates and processes Barbera, Albarossa, Pinot Nero, Ruchè, Riesling, Sauvignon and Viognier.
The history of Ruchè, for Poggio Ridente, is an expression of destiny which, as often happens, becomes a good adviser.
It was, in fact, in more distant times, Romolo Dezzani who bottled the first bottle of Ruchè in the Monferrato area. Since then, it was love at first sight, then shared with Luigi and Cecilia.
Today Poggio Ridente is also a producer of Ruchè, naturally organic and harvested in the municipality of Viarigi.
Poggio Ridente is the only organic company within the Ruchè Producers Association of Castagnole Monferrato. Not a choice but a lifestyle.
